Albert Hobbs was the son of Nathan Hobbs & Persis Hutchins. The family moved back to Constable while he was at a young age and he lived and taught school for awhile living in Moira, NY before moving to Malone to practise law. In 1863 elected to the NY State Senate and served as a county judge from 1867 to 1878 before returning to private law practise. His cousin Major Edward Hobbs practised law after the civil war in Kings Co NY.
