Samuel W. Haun
Funeral services for Samuel W. Haun, 90, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Garfield Christian Church. Burial will follow at the Garland [sic] Cemetery with Kramers Funeral Home of Palouse, Wash., handling arrangements.

Mr. Haun died Saturday afternoon at The Tekoa Care Center in Tekoa, Wash., where he has resided since 1983.

He was born June 30, 1897, at Elverton [sic], Wash., to Benjamin and Ora (Wilson) Haun. Mr. Haun graduated from the Garfield High School in 1915. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I.

Mr. Haun homesteaded in Montana from 1919-1921. He returned to Garfield in 1921 and married Mina Trimble in Moscow, Idaho. The couple farmed near Garfield.

In 1924 Mr. Haun began work as a distributer [sic] for The Standard Oil Company and lived in Palouse, Deer Park, Colville, Colfax, Uniontown, Clarkston, and Coeur d'Alene before returning to Garfield in 1942. Mr. Haun retired in 1962.

Survivors included his wife; one son, Sam Haun Jr. of Rivercrest [sic], Calif.; one daughter, Dorothy (Pennell) Haun [sic: (Haun) Pennell] of Spokane; one brother, Robert Haun of Lexington, Ky.; one sister, Genevieve Lohmar of Yakima; and three grandchildren
