Son of Revolutionary soldier Benjamin Hodnett. Lovick Hodnett is identified in the estate papers of his father, Benjamin Hodnett. From the estate he received $130. His brother William Hodnett signed for Lovick. These estate records are found Jasper County GA, Will Book G, 1820-1823.

Lovic had four known wives:

Married January 15, 1830, in Newton County, Georgia to Mary Traylor (SRC: McGehee and Descendants).

Married December 15, 1858, in Fulton County, Georgia to Lorena C. Sirena Thames (SRC: Fulton County, Georgia Marriage Book A, Pg. 30).

Married July 1, 1869, in Troup County, Georgia to Martha J. Turner (nee Owen) (SRC: Troup County, Georgia, Marriage Book E, Pg. 318).

Married May 10, 1881, in Macon County, Alabama to Elizabeth Kittrell (SRC: Family Search, Alabama Marriages, 1816-1957).
