Casper Barnhill, second son of John W. Barnhill, Jr. and the former Miss Fannie Grubb, was born in November of 1898.

On August 2nd 1916, he departed this life by accidentally falling from the dam located in Cherokee Falls and drowning in the Broad River at the age of 18 years and 9 months.

Casper Barnhill was buried in the churchyard cemetery at Draytonville Baptist Church, where he was a member since birth.
