Jess E. Mitchell, 76, of Port Orchard, died in the Seattle Hospital Feb. 18, 1961. He was born Nov. 5, 1884, in Seward, Nebraska, and lived in Marysville from 1937 to 1944, which he moved to Port Orchard. He was a member of Port Orchard Methodist Church. Survivors include three sons, Dean of R. R., Marysville; Donald of Valentine, Nebraska; and Robert Mitchell of Seattle, Washington; two daughters, Mrs. Glenn Rix and Mrs. Myron Bolinger, both of Wenatchee; his mother, Hester Heath of St. Edwards, Nebraska; ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Private funeral services were held on a Wednesday in the Schaefer's Funeral Home, with Rev. Lloyd Doty officiating. Burial was in Marysville Cemetery.
