David Peter Cornelsen was born in Marion County, Kansas, January 16, 1882 and died in Enid General hospital October 9, 1950, at teh age of 68 years, 8 months and 24 days.

In 1895 he moved with his parents to a farm near Fairview, Oklahoma. Worked with his father until 1902 when he married Mary Regier. They resided on a farm southwest of Fairview until 1909, locating then on a farm south of Fairview until he retired in 1946. To this union was born three children. His wife Mary passed on to eternity December 7, 1938.

He was active in comminity affairs, served as rural mail carrier, was a member of the Fairland school board for 28 years and a trustee of township board.

Married Edna Patzkowski June 3, 1941, moving to town in 1946 where he resided until death.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Edna of the home, two daughters LaVernia May Cornelsen, Fairview, Dora Young, Oakland, Calif. One son, Ilgin Cornelsen, Fairview. Three grandchildren, Melvin Unruh, Harold Lynn and Lucinda May Cornelsen, all of Fairview. Two step-sons, Cleo Patzkowski, Oklahoma City, and C. E. Patzkowski, Pittsburg, Pa. Five brothers, Abraham, Theodore, Arthur, Harry and Pete, three sisters. Mary Wiens, Anna Voth and Lydia Bierig. A number of other relatives and a host of friends.
