Family tradition states that Mary was most likely effected by the death of her mother Maud and baby brother at her early age of five years old. Her father's second wife was only ten years older than Mary and it was said that they both competed for his love & attention. It appears that this fact may have been part of the reason that Mary did not return to Texas when the Pringle family returned after 1924. Another reason for Mary not returning was that she was married and in high school and chose to live close to her grandfather's family in Miami.

Mary married Amos Weaver, on 15 Mar 1924 at age 18. They had the following children: John Jacob, Amos B., Jr., William Wayne, Maude Caroline, Levi Loyd 'Bud' & Franklin Delano Weaver. A baby boy was born prematurely prior to Franklin and lived only 2.5 hours. Mary had no children of her marriage to Charles White.

Mary had requested that her ashes be buried beside her mother's grave in Arden, TX Cemetery and her request was honored by her youngest half-brother.
