MR. HURST
LaFAYETTE --- Mr. Homer Hurst, 89, of LaFayette died Monday, March 15, 1999, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 16 at 2 p.m. at LaFayette Heights Baptist Church in LaFayette with the Revs. Paul Howard and Herbert Howard officiating. Burial followed in LaFayette City Cemetery.
Mr. Hurst is survived by his wife, Annie Hurst of LaFayette; five children, Edward Hurst, Jo Ann Hunt, Peggy Blanton and Larry Hurst, all of Lafayette and James H. Hurst of West Point; his sister, Lula Maude Pender of Opelika; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Born April 24, 1909, in LaFayette. Mr. Hurst was a member of LaFayette Heights Baptist Church. He retired after 40 years of service from Alvondale Mill in Lafayette.
