BARR, RICHARD H.
Richard H. "Dick" Barr, 60, of Elizabeth, died Thursday, May 23,
1996, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late French and Mildred
Cowan Barr. He was a 1954 graduate of Wirt County High School and a
U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He retired from E.I. DuPont in
1988 with more than 30 years of service and was an avid hunter and
fisherman. He was a member of Selective Service Board, Wirt County
Lions Club, and Elizabeth United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Janet Honaker Barr; one son, Greg
Barr of Elizabeth; one daughter, Kelly Tanner of Eliza-beth; one
sister, Wanda Edgell of Elyria, Ohio; one aunt, Dennie Dennison of
Elyria; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three stepgreat-
grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Jeannie Barr.
Services were held at Busch Funeral Home, Elizabeth, with Rev.
Michael E. Taylor officiating. Burial was in Knights of Pythias
Cemetery, Elizabeth, with military rites by American Legion Post 55,
Elizabeth.
