Amy May Richards

Last Friday, little Amy Richards was joyfully playing with her brothers and sisters; today she dwells among the pure in that heavenly home that is so bright and glorious. The spark of her life was extinguished early, but not before her work in this probation had been accomplished. Little Amy May, as her parents looked upon her, was to them, as to all others who knew her, a bright, fragrant flower, whose traits of character were intensely lovable and womanlike; but she was born for a fairer and grander world than this. Mr. and Mrs. Richards have seven children remaining, but this fact makes their trial none the less hard to bear, though the fact that they have the faith and hope of again meeting and associating with their beloved child in the hereafter, is to them an immense source of consolation. Their many friends express the deepest sympathy in the hour of their sad and unexpected bereavement.
Amy was born Nov. 25th, 1890, and had been ailing but a short time, and her disease was not understood by the medical profession. On Friday afternoon Mrs. Richards took her daughter to Salt Lake for treatment, where she died Saturday, at 11:15 am. It is supposed the immediate cause of death was congestion of the brain. The remains were brought to Tooele Sunday and interred Monday.
President S. Gowans and Elder John Gillespie both made appropriate and conciliatory remarks at the services.
