Mrs Ben Willis age 18 years died of pulmonary abscess, which resulted in blood poisoning Sunday last. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Gordan in the M.E. church Monday afternoon and a great many friends of the deceased followed her remains to the grave at Washington Cemetery, regardless of the inclemency of the weather.

The young woman was married to Mr. Willis last sept 2nd, beinga wife of 9 months and few days when her death seperated them. After the marriage, they settled down on farm two miles north of Port Sanilac on the lake shore. it was at this place, the unfavorable climate weakned her constitution and she developed pulmonary diease. She was later taken to Mc Greor where medical treatment was minstered. And about one month ago she was brought to this place and then moved to the home of her father Isaac Ridley, southwest of town, where she died a few days after an operation was performed on her left lung. During the operation she refused the application of anaesthetic agents and bravely watched with interest the surgical operation as it was performed. Her death was calm and peaceful, she having resigned herself to die. Flowers were in abudance at the funeral, showing the bereavement to have spread among many friends
