Mrs. Gerald Van Beek of rural Inwood, formerly Wilmina Hoefakker of Rock Valley, died very unexpectedly on Sunday, December 5, at the home of her mother, Mrs. Henry Hoefakker.
According to a family spokesman, the Van Beek's had gone to church in Rock Valley and had stopped at the home of her mother. After eating a lunch Mrs. Van Beek was found in the bath room by her mother. She was given artificial respiration by members of the family but those efforts failed. Death was attributed to a heart attack.
Services were held on Wednesday, December 8, at the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley with the Rev.W illiam Suyker officiating. Interment was in the Valley View Cemetery at Rock Valley.
Wilmina Hoefakker Van Beek was born on May 26, 1944, at Rock Valley. She was married on August 26, 1967 at Rock Valley.
Surviving are the widower, one son, Terry Lee; one daughter, Sandra Dawn, both at home; her mother, Mrs. Henry Hoefakker; her grandmother, Mrs. Henry Hoefakker, Sr., of Rock Valley; two brothers, Henry Hoefakker of Inwood and Teunis Hoefakker of rural Rock Valley; and two sisters, Mrs. William (Clazena) Kooiman of Rock Valley and Mrs. Leonard (Angie) Den Hoed of Sioux Center.
