Reese owned a farm on Highway 58 in Harrison. His past time was fox hunting, and his favorite foxhound was "Old Belle." He was known through the community for helping local farmers tend their sick cattle and for his outstanding blacksmith skills. He migrated to Washington State in search of work, but his wife (Flora Brooks) became homesick for Tennessee and they returned. His sons Claude and Edgar returned to Washington State permanently. He was known throughout the community as a good and kindly soul who looked for the good in everyone.
