Daughter of Robert Stricker and Sarah Elizabeth (aka as "Sadie") Cantwell;

Wife of Asa Walter Brown, then Robert M. Reed. Asa died on April 3, 1914 and was buried at Knob Cemetery on April 5, 1914.

By the 1920's Census, the children that Martha and Asa had together were not being raised by Martha. They were:

1. Edna Marie Brown Walmsley
2. Nellie E. Brown Oller;
3. Clara Blanche Brown (can not determined whether she married or not as of 4/15/2012);
4. Grace Mae Brown Ellis; and, Fearl Arthur Brown (married to Marie Suter).

Martha's and Asa's Daughters, by 1920 were living either with Asa's brothers or sisters or they were "companions" to elderly persons. The most startling thing is that NONE of these children were living with each other. They were broken apart.

Martha married her second Husband, Robert M. Reed, on September 11, 1919 in Washington County, Ohio. Robert Reed had previously been married to Rebecca Ellen Bush, the Daughter of William Bush and Susannah Rake. Robert's marriage record to Martha states that he had "secured a divorce in June of 1918 in Marietta, Ohio".

Between the time of Asa's death (4/3/1914) and her marriage to Robert Reed, Martha gave birth to a son named William Foster Reed, who was born on August 11, 1917. Martha bore Robert at least three other children. They are:
1. Homer Reed (born in Ohio in 1920);
2. Robert D. Reed (born May 8, 1921 in Ohio; died March 20 1980); and,
3. Dorothy Genevia Reed (born 8/23/1924; see link for further info.)

Martha is buried with her first Husband, Asa, as was the custom of her time period when one was married more than once.
