Mrs. Sohn Dies At Hospital Here After An Illness
Cleveland. -- (Special) -- Mrs. Charlotte Sohn, 89, died Thursday afternoon at Sheboygan Memorial hospital. She had been ill two and a half weeks but up to that time had been active around the home.
Mrs. Sohn was born Charlotte Rehm in Germany on Sept 5 1850 and come to live in the town of Meeme with her parents at the age of two years. At the time of her death she resided with her daughter-in-law Mrs. Fred Sohn, on Highway 149 in the town of Meeme.
She was married to Mr. Sohn on March 28, 1868. The couple lived on the homestead farm until 1900 when the husband died. Mrs. Sohn then moved to Sheboygan and 10 years ago went to live on the farm again.
Survivors are two children, Louise of Huron, S. Dak., and Herman of northern Minnesota; 19 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, a brother, August of Manitowoc and a sister, Mrs. Marie Wolf, tow of Meeme. A son, Fred, died in 1936. Mrs. Sohn was a member of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed church of Sheboygan.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the home and at 2 o'clock at St. James Evangelical and Reformed church at Spring Valley, the Rev. Carl Schmahl officiating, with interment in the church cemetery. The casket will not be opened in the church but the body can be viewed at the home.
