Son of David Frederick Hufford of Orick and Emma Grace Bailey of Trinidad; and step-son of Mr. Sidney Gordon Foster of Blue Lake, CA. As a child Wesley was raised in Trinidad and lived for a time in Bridgeville where his uncle George Washington Hufford had a large ranch. Following his parent's divorce and mother's remarriage to Mr. Foster, Wesley and his sister Lois (later to become Mrs. Charles Bradley) lived in Eureka where Wesley graduated from the old Craddock Business College.
Wesley was married to Eva Legretta Keith and had a daughter Ione Louise Hufford. He was the grandfather of two children: Brenda Lou and Claude Eugene Wooten. He had been a rancher and carpenter in Grants Pass for 10 years before his death at the age of 64. According to his daughter, Ione, he was a rodeo rider at the Pendleton Round-Up.
