Henry R. Master, 85, retired L. F. Grammes and Sons employee, died at 10:50 p.m. Thursday at his home, 721 N. Lumber St. He had been in failing health for two years. A native of Hereford Township, Berks County, he was a son of the late Manoah and Sarah (Rothenberger) Master. Until his retirement five years ago, he had been employed by the Grammes company for a quarter century. Prior to that he had worked ten years at Bethlehem Steel Company and also had been employed at the Lehigh Portland Cement Company. Master was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Macungie. Surviving are three sons, Howard M. and LaRoy W., both of Allentown, and Calvin, Seisholtzville; two daughters, Esther I., wife of Steward Schuler, Lexington, Mass., and Edna S., wife of Paul Ruch, with whom he had resided; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two brothers, James and Charles, and a sister, Mrs. Alice Phillips, all of Reading.
