Susanna Bauer was the daughter of Sebastian and Elizabeth (Mueller) Wieland. She married Adam Bauer on 15 June 1871 in Worth Township, Woodford County, IL before a civil magistrate. They renewed their vows in the Roman Catholic church of St. Mary's of Lourdes on 30 January 1872; witnesses were Leo Blum and Michael Mueller. Ten children were born of this union, three of whom died as infants.Susanna died at a very young age. After her death, most of the family members moved to Plankinton, SD. Her husband, Adam, farmed there until his death. He was returned to be buried with Susanna at St. Mary's of Lourdes.

"His Wife" - parish church records show her death date as 1901. Stone was placed some 20 years later and memory was not well served.
