Lydia Jewett was born April 30, 1777 in Rindge, the daughter of Ezekiel and Hannah (Platts) Jewett. Lydia married, 1798, Amos Jewett, the son of Stephen and Hannah (Bancroft) Jewett. They resided at the family homestead farm that then included a part of the village of West Rindge. Amos and Lydia were highly respected members of the community. They had nine children. Amos died June 27, 1834. Lydia died January 27, 1847, aged 69 years.
