MELVIN CAPLINGER
Death of Melvin Chester Caplinger, 54, of Delaware was attributed to pneumonia following an autopsy Thursday by Dr. William E. Noble, Allen County coroner. Caplinger was dead on arrival 9 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Hospital. Dr. Noble indicated Caplinger had pneumonia for a number of days.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Siferd Main Street Chapel with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call today at the funeral home.
Born Oct. 7, 1916, in Sandusky, he was the son of Tonas and Viola Smith Caplinger. He was a World War II veteran.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Norman (Bona Lou) Ruggles, and a son, William E., both of Delaware; and four grandchildren.
