Claude A. "Puzzle" Pulliam


SUMMERFIELD - Mr. Claude Allen "Puzzle" Pulliam, 96, of Price Mill Road, died Monday, November 20, 2006, at Annie Penn Hospital.

A memorial service for Mr. Pulliam will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, November 24, in the Brooke Chapel of Forbis & Dick Funeral Service in Stokesdale. Inurnment will follow in Woodland Cemetery in Madison.

A native of Wheeling, West Virginia, Mr. Pulliam was born on November 15, 1910, the son of the late Tim and Patty Pulliam. He was retired from Morgan Poultry Co. Mr. Pulliam was of the Baptist faith, sharing words from the Bible with his family every day.

Surviving are his children, James Pulliam of Colfax, Curtis Pulliam of Greensboro, Roger Pulliam and his wife, Peggy of Summerfield, Sanford Pulliam of Ridgeway, Va., Shirley Temple Norton of Greensboro, Patsy Ann Miller of Summerfield, and Mary Ann Landreth, 25 grandchildren, and 32 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Effie Jane Nelson Pulliam; and sons, William Pulliam, Lyman Pulliam, Richard Pulliam, and Claude Pulliam, Jr.

The family will greet friends following the inurnment at the cemetery.
