Earl Spangler, 77, of Rt. 3, Murphysboro, died Monday in St. Joseph Memorial Hospital, Murphysboro, after an illness of two days.
He was born April 13, 1896, in Vergennes, to John William and Mary Smith Spangler.
He was a construction worker.
Survivors include a brother, Ardell of Mattoon; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Denny and Pettett Funeral Home, Murphysboro, with the Rev. Lloyd Fielding officiating.
Burial will be in Boucher Cemetery, north of Murphysboro.
