Gus T. Brannon
Dies Last Night

Gus T. Brannon, formerly a prominent citizen of Hopkinsville, died lasti night at his home at Durham, N. C., following a ong illness of a complication of diseases, according to a message received by friends here.

The body will be brought to the city Thursday night on the Dixie Flyer, and funeral services, the hour for which has not yet been set, will take place Friday morning at the grave at Riverside Cemetery.

Mr. Brannon was born at Owens boro and was a member of an old family of Daviess County. He came to the city as a young man and held the position of cashier at the old Commercial Bank, where the Phoenix building now stands.

He was married to Miss Gertrude Branham, representative of an outstanding pioneer family of the county, who survives with their two children, Rose Sutherland and Gus Brannon Jr,. Mrs. Brannon will be in the city for the funeral services.

Many years ago Mr. Brannon left the city and was employed in the construction division of the Standard Oil Co., holding a responsible position. In recent years he had made his home at Durham.
