Lois J. Haggerty, 78, of Valparaiso, passed away Monday, June 25, 2001 at Porter Memorial Hospital in Valparaiso. She was born January 17, 1923 in Valparaiso to James I (Brady) and Ida Ethel (Spencer) Weddle. On June 28, 1947 in Valparaiso, she married Delbert Haggerty who passed away March 10, 1977. Surviving her are two daughters: Peggy (Dan) Dillabaugh of Valparaiso and Sandra Haggerty of Hebron; eight grandchildren: Jeni and Jill Haggerty of Muncie, Daniel (Holly) Dillabaugh of Valparaiso, Tom (Megan) Dillabaugh of Hebron and Rachel, Joe, Julie and Eric Dillabaugh, all of Valparaiso. Two sisters: Delores Wagner of Fremont, Indiana and Helen (Gene) Wiggins of Valparaiso, also survive her. In addition to her late husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert G. Haggerty, her parents and one sister, Betty Sweet.
Mrs. Haggerty was a member of the Boone Grove Christian Church and the Porter County Extension Homemakers.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, June 28, 2001 at the Boone Grove Christian Church, Rev. Paul Champion will officiate. Burial will take place at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Wednesday 4 to 8 P.M. at the Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe, Valparaiso, IN. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Boone Grove Christian Church.
