Helen (Merrill) Flores , 86, of Hyannis MA, formerly of Provincetown MA, died on December 29, 1997 at The Center for Optimum Care in Mashpee MA.
Born in Provincetown on March 20, 1911, she was a graduate of Provincetown High School. She lived in Provincetown until moving to Hyannis in 1988. She worked for the Cape Cod National Seashore in its maintenance department for 10 years until her retirement in the late 1960s. She wintered in Hollywood FL for several years.
Mrs. Flores was a member of the Portuguese American Civic League, Provincetown Senior Citizens, and St. Mary of the Harbor Church, all in Provincetown. She also worked with the Provincetown Civil Defense for many years. Mrs. Flores enjoyed ceramics and flower gardening.
She was the wife of the late Frank Flores.
Surviving are her son Francis A. Carlos of Hyannis; daughters Eileen Glover and Roseanne Poole, both of New Hampshire; sister Madeline Taves of Provincetown; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
