Beloved wife, mother and friend Verna June Stewart, 87, a resident of Concho Valley for five years died April 4, 2012 of congestive heart failure at Sierra Blanca Rehabilitation.
Verna was born May 7, 1924, in Detroit, Mich. as the school bell tolled to Richard and Susan Matzoll (Crampton). She worked as a registered nurse and retired from Michigan Bell Telephone. Always giving, Verna was a loyal and loving friend and was an active volunteer for PGA, WPGA and junior golf events.
She is survived by her husband James; children: Barbara and Kirk Schroeder, Mary and Jack Springer, Douglas and Cindy Stewart, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, James.
Interment will be at Snowflake Memorial Cemetery in Snowflake.
