He had been ill the past six months, however, he suffered a relapse recently after recovering earlier in the summer. He had been taken to the hospital in Omaha Monday evening of last week and when his condition became serious, Thursday morning his family was summoned to his bedside.

In 1882 Mr. VanAckeren came to this country with his parents and after eighteen months residence near Plainview, Nebr., they settled on a homestead in Cummings county north of West Point.
