DEATH OF G. A. KEY
George A. Key for many years a resident of the Granville vicinity, but who, for the past few years had been living in Paris, died at the Furnish Hospital here about 4:00 o 'clock Saturday morning, following an operation performed Thursday afternoon.
He had been feeling as well as usual and was out upon the streets at Paris until Wednesday evening when he was taken ill. He was rushed to the hospital here but aid was of no avail, and death soon came to end his suffering.
Deceased was bom in Monroe county, March 10, 1860, thus lacking only five days of being 61 years old at the time of his death. He was united in marriage to Miss Annie Myers of Sedalia on February 14, 1884, and to this union five children, three boys and two girls, were born, four of whom, with Mrs. Key, survive. They are Mrs. Edith Freerer and Burdnell, both of Edmonson, Alberta, Canada; Roger and Mrs. Chas. Tullis of the Granville vicinity. One son, Frank, died some 12 years ago. He is also survived by four brothers, Tom, of Bishop, Calif.; Martin, of Wenatchee, Washington, Luther, of Holliday; and J. F., of this city. Two sisters, Mrs. A. A. Jones of near Granville and Dr. Annie Duffer of Monticello, Ark.
Funeral services were held at the Oak Grove church, south of Woodlawn, Sunday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Rev. Shively, pastor of the Christian church at Paris, of which the deceased was a devoted member. Burial was in the family lot in the Oak Grove cemetery.
