Swedish Economist, Politician, Member of the cabinet, Author. One of the most noted persons in Swedish public debate. A distinguished member of the Social Democrat Party, highly engaged in promoting social welfare. But also controversial. In 1934 he and his wife, Alva Myrdal, published the book ”The Population Promblem in Crisis,” in which they advocated solutions that later led to sterilization of gipsys and vagrants, people that was concidered ”inferior” at the time. He received the Nobel Price of Economy 1974.
