Louis Franklin Caldwell, 71, of Wooldridge Road died at 12:35 p.m. Thursday at Jennie Stuart Medical Center after a short illness.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with the Rev. John R. Christian officiating and burial in Riverside Cemetery.

Masonic services will begin at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

A native of Christian County, he was born Dec. 2, 1915, the son of the late James Caldwell [CULWELL] and Callie Shelby Caldwell [CULWELL] Farris. He was a retired farmer and a member of Salem Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge No. 37. His first wife, Ethel Brummett Caldwell, died in 1963, and a granddaughter also preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Stagner Caldwell; two sons, Ed of Cadiz and J.L. Caldwell of Gracey; a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Carolyn) Willetts, Hopkinsville; a brother, Bill Farris, Madison, Tenn.; a sister, Ernestine McLendon, Hopkinsville; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
