"Emmay was an assistant in the public school and one of Midway’s most popular young ladies. Mr. E. T. Alston, the only son of Mrs. M. E. Alston, had since his grandmother died had the entire charge of his mother’s estate. -Bullock County Breeze. [Published in Union Springs, Ala. Years of publication: 1902 to 1918]"

At a meeting of the City Board of Education Miss Emmay Pruett, assistant principal of the City High School tendered her resignation and Miss Mary Clayton was chosen. Prof. H. L. Upshaw was retained as principal which fills all the requirements for the enduing term. Miss Pruett has accepted a position in the school at Midway, where she formerly resided.
