1. REVOLUTIONARY WAR SERVICE:

Nash, Joseph. Sergeant, Capt. John Hall's detachment; engaged June 24, 1777; discharged June 30, 1777; service, 6 days; detachment drafted from militia for service at Machias; also, Capt. John Hall's detachment, Col. Benjamin Foster's (Lincoln Co.) regt.; entered service Sept. 26, 1777; discharged Sept. 29, 1777; service, 4 days; detachment drafted from militia by order of Col. Foster and marched to the assistance of Machias and there served when British ships lay in that harbor; roll dated Pleasant River.

*died at Addison (Washington County, Maine) 1790-94 [however, a family letter written in 1798 suggests he d c1783];


*moved to North Yarmouth ME c1753, then settled on the Pleasant River at Addison "Point" in 1767 [PR 1778-84, ADD 1790];


*married at Braintree MA 16 Dec 1746 Susanna Shaw, b at So. Weymouth MA 3 March 1726; d at Addison (Washington County, Maine) 1790; dau of Joseph4 (Joseph3, John2, Abraham1) and Mary4 (John3, Nathaniel2, Thomas1 Blanchard) Shaw.
