OBIT: Members of Garrison 109, army and Navy Union, who have uniforms, are requested to report to the adjutant in Lonaconing, not later than 1:30 pm Saturday for the purpose of attending the funeral of William Patrick, an honorably discharged solider of the United States Army. Memers having arms and equipments at their homes are requested to send them to the army, if they cannot attend. WIlliam Patrick. Sad is the fate of poor William Patrick. After weeks of enforced idleness, he went back to the mine only to meet his death. With both legs broken and an artery severed there was no chance of recovery. He lived in agony 18 hours and passed away yesterday morning at 6:20. William Patrick was about 31 years of age, and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Patrick of Watercliffe. He is survived by his parents, three sisters - Mrs. John Zais of Westernport and Misses Bessie and Dollie Patrick - and two brothers - Clarence and Harry. The Patricks are long residents of Lonaconing and are among its best people. The funeral will take place tomorrow at 2 o'clock, and Garrison 109, Army and Navy Union, will furnish an escort. The dead soldier was not a member of the garrison, but was always ready to turn out with the garrison and served on the firing squad on several occasions. He had filed his application for membership and would have been initiated at the next meeting of the garrison. The remains are lying at the residence of the parents on Watercliffe, dressed in the uniform of an artillery man and covered with the flag of his country.
