She is preceded by children, Warren, Christina and Shaunna and siblings Earl & Isabel.

Esther was a mother in Zion and was blessed with a large posterity of 14 children, 97 grandchildren and 190 great grandchildren. Her grandfather Warren Marshall Johnson was called by Brigham Young to a mission to operate Lee's Ferry on the Colorado River before the bridge at Marble Canyon was built. He spent 21 years operating the Ferry for the church before being released. He built a cabin for his wife Samantha at the junction of the Paria & Colorado rivers which still stands today and is preserved by the U.S. Park Service. Esthers father, Price Johnson was born in this cabin and settled at Lee's Ferry to farm and work on the original Marble Canyon Bridge. Esther was also born in the same cabin. The family later moved to Short Creek AZ where she married James Warren Black, raised her large family and lived the rest of her life. She was dedicated to her family and showed her dedication through service to them.

In her later years she was a temple worker in the St.George Temple. This was a work she greatly enjoyed and always looked forward to. She felt it was a great blessing in her life and worked there until her bout with Dementia which prevented her from being there. She lived the last year of her life with her daughter Gayle in Cedar City, UT.

She will be greatly missed by her family & friends who all know that someday they will be reunited.

Funeral services held April 13 at the LDS Chapel in Moccasin. Arrangements made with Mosdell Mortuary of Kanab UT.
