Found in The State 12 July 1948: Robert Fraser Martin, 69, of 4021 Ensor avenue died suddenly at 11:45 Saturday night at the Columbia hospital. He had been in declining health for several years. Born in Fairfield county, Mr. Martin was the son of the late Robert Fraser and Theodocia Fogartie Martin. He was a member and the senior elder of Eau Claire Presbyterian church. For many years he had been connected with Robinett Furniture company. He is survived by two sons by his first marriage to Miss Elise Westberry, Rembert H. Martin and Robert W. Martin, both of Columbia; and by three daughters and one son by his second marriage to Miss Susan Kaminer who survives. They are Mrs. Irby C. Ott, Mrs. J. William Franklin and Miss Martha Martin, all of Columbia and John Fraser Martin of Columbia. Other survivors include four grandchildren, Mrs. Frances Butler of Bartow, Fla., and Miss Susan Ott, John Fraser Martin, Jr. and Laura Lynn Barton, all of Columbia; two sisters, Mrs. ( ) Barrett of Columbia and Mrs. ( ) Smith of Atlanta, Ga., and one brother, T. A. Martin of Charleston, and a number of nieces and nephews.
