Rodney Bruce Covington

Rodney Bruce Covington, 48, of Savannah, died Friday at St. Josephs Hospital. He was born in Millen and was a graduate of Johnson High School, Class of 1972. He had worked as a Checker for Local #1475, ILA for the past 24 years. He was known affectionately as "The Candy Man," loved movies, was an avid reader, and an excellent Chef. Survivors: his wife, Mrs. Carol Graham Covington of Savannah; two daughters and son-in- law, Cheri and Scott Rouse and Brittney Melissa Covington, all of Savannah; parents, Bruce and Patsy Covington of Bloomingdale; two brothers and sisters- in-law, David N. and Janice Covington of Rincon, and Alex W. Covington of Savannah; two grandchildren, Shelby Anne Rouse and Scott Kyle Rouse; and a number of nieces and nephews. Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p. m. Monday at the Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home- Hodgson Memorial Chapel. Funeral Services: 11:00 a. m. Tuesday in the Chapel of the Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home- Hodgson Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Billy Hester and Dr. Earl Best officiating. Burial: Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be: Scott Rouse, Mark Cadman, Edwin Graham, Jr., Randy Moore, Keith Covington, and Mark Simons.
