Francis E Goochoe (Anglicized from Francis Xavier Gougeon) enlisted 12 June 1864 at Rutland, VT, a private with the 2nd Vermont Light Artillery. He was discharged for disability at Port Hudson, LA on 3 Oct 1864.
A stone cutter, his residence was listed as Bennington, VT when he was admitted to the Soldiers Home in July 1909. He was discharged at his own request in June 1913, but soon returned, dying there in Oct.
