Peter Green Whitehead was the eighth child born to William Whitehead and Margaret Green. He was born Sept. 7, 1874 in Franklin, Idaho, USA.

He was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Dec. 6, 1883.

He was ordained a Seventy April 18, 1905 by Seymour B. Young and filled a mission to the Southern States in 1905-1907. He was ordained a High Priest March 2, 1923 by Melvin J. Ballard. He was sustained as Bishop of the Franklin Ward July 29, 1923 and was Bishop until 1929.

He married Martha Ella Morrison Dec. 18, 1907 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
