Laura Ethel Sells Henry, 92, died May 12, 2002, at a Chesapeake nursing facility. Mrs. Henry was born in Overton County, Tenn., to the late Rogene Coleman and George Porter Sells. She was a loving mother and a Baptist who enjoyed gardening, sewing and quilting. Mrs. Henry was predeceased by her husband, Albert Rosco Henry and a son, Cletis Henry.
Survivors include two daughters, Lois Tabor of Green Cove Springs, Fla., and Joyce Graham of Chesapeake; five sons, Harvey C. Henry of Virginia Beach, Arnold Henry of Crossville, Tenn., Clarence Henry of Wheelersburg, Ohio, Jimmy Henry of Richmond, Va., and Byrl Henry of Bushnell Fla.; a sister, Avous Winningham of Jamestown, Tenn.; 26 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Twiford's Colonial Chapel, Chesapeake, with Robert Hudgins officiating. Burial will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday at Bayside Church of Christ, 5025 Shell Road, Virginia Beach, following the interment.
