Edith E Otto of East Lansing age 87, passed away May 21, 1984. Mrs Otto was born May 13, 1897 in Owosso, Michigan and had been a resident of East Lansing for the past 39 years. She was retired as manager of the Wanda Handcock Dress Shop of East Lansing after 20 years of service, member of St Paul's Episcopal Church, the Alter Society and the St Elizabeth Guild. Mrs. Otoo ws preceded in death by her husband James R Otto Sr. Surviving are 5 sons and daughters-in-law James R and Barbara Otto of Portsmouth OH, Allen T and Jane Otto of Troy, Jack L and Barbara Otto of Birmingham, Richard E and Lorayne Otto of Lansing, Thomas L and Dorothy Otto of Southfield; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lou and Jack Fahres of Corte Maderia Ca. 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; several neises and nephews. Religious services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at St Paul's Episcopal Church with the Rev Nicholas P. N. Lubelfeld officiating with private internment services in Evergreen cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Estes-Leadley Grater Lansing Chapel Wed from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, and at the church Thurs from 10:30 am until service time. Pallbearers are Mark Otto, James M Otto, Thomas R Otto, Richard E Otto Jr., Paul R Otto, John M Otto, Thomas Fahres and Daniel Fahres. Memorial contributions may be made to St Paul's Episcopal Church in memory of Edith E Otto.
