Etha was preceded in death by: husband, Arthur Walters, who died Dec. 5, 1990.
Survivors are: children and their spouses, Dennis and Diane Walters of Albion, Margene and John Arensberg of Commerce City, Colo., and CloEtha "Clo" and Bruce Swihart of Grand Island; 16 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Etha was welcomed into heaven by: husband; parents and 10 brothers and sisters.
Etha was raised in Chambers, graduating from Chambers High School. She received a bachelor of arts degree from Wayne State College and continued with her graduate studies. On June 2, 1935, she was united in marriage to Arthur Charles Walters.
Etha retired from teaching school after 42-1/2 years of service in education. She began her teaching career in 1932 having taught at Chambers, O'Neill, Amelia, Stuart and in rural schools. She served as deputy county superintendent for two years.
Etha was a member of the Methodist Church in Chambers, having served as choir director and church organist. After moving to Grand Island in 1996, Etha played the piano at Riverside Lodge for chapel and musical programs.
Burial was in the Chambers Cemetery, Chambers, NE.
