A former Ethyl Corp employee and self employed with Louisiana division of the Blind as a stand operator, he died March 20, 1996 at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. He was a resident of Baton Rouge and native of Benson. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, where he served in the Sixth Armored Division. He was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church, American Legion Post No. 0401 and Sixth Armored Division Association. He is survived by one daughter, two sons, one sister, one brother, six grandchchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded by his wife Margie Ruth Crump Heard.
