For Claude C. Ashby
Services for Claude C. Ashby, 71, retired Hopkinsville businessman, public official and church leader, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home.
The Rev. David Conley and the Rev. Paul Watson will officiate, and burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Mr. Ashby died Tuesday night in Jennie Stuart Hospital. He lived at Stanley St.
A native of Webster County, Mr. Ashby was born March 31, 1902, son of the late C.P. and Elizabeth Korb Ashby.
He was the retired owner of the Pittsburgh Paint and Wallpaper Co. store here and a former member of City Council.
Mr. Ashby was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where he had served as an elder for the past 50 years. He was also a past moderator of the Kentucky Presbyterian Synod and was serving as treasurer of the West Kentucky Presbytery.
