Mrs. Edith Deir Dies January 12

Mrs. Edith Deir, 74, for many years a resident of Boylston, died January 12, 1954 in the Evergreen Nursing Home, Williamstown. She had been ill for about two years. Her death resulted from a heart ailment.

She was born October 16, 1879 in the town of Boylston, the daughter of Anthony and Sarah Rowe Wilmot. She was married to John Watson, who for many years operated a farm in Boylston. He died December 9, 1931 and she later married Patrick Deir.

Mrs. Deir was affiliated with the Boylston Wesleyan church.

She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Sadie Manchester, Watertown, and Mrs. Rose Earl, Syracuse; three brothers, Anthony Wilmot, Baldwinsville and Alvin and Edison Wilmot of Richland, and several nephews and nieces.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 15 at the Weston & Woodard funeral parlors in Sandy Creek, the Rev. Adelbert Edwards, pastor of Boylston Wesleyan church, officiating.

Burial will be in Wesleyan cemetery.
