Mrs. Martha Glascock, Dies in Hannibal
Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Glascock, 83, who formerly lived in the eastern part of Shelby county, died at the home of her son, Walter Glascock, in Hannibal Saturday night, following a week's illness.
She was born Aug. 22, 1850, and lived most of her life in the Cherry Dell neighborhood, until eleven years ago when she moved to Hannibal. Her husband, Ray Glascock, preceded her in death many years ago.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. R.A. Wilson of Wynnewood, Okla.; three sons, Oscar and Walter Glascock of Hannibal, and Henry Glascock of Brookfield; two brothers, J.D. Bybee of Bowie, Tex., and George Bybee of Gainesville, Tex.; twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Glascock was a member of the Methodist church.
Funeral services were held at the Smith Funeral Home in Hannibal yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. C.E. Abernathy of that city, after which the body was brought to the Pleasant View cemetery near Cherry Dell for burial.
