Costin Beauchamp, who was born and reared in Delaware, was a farmer and large land-holder and trader. He landed at Louisville, Ky, about 1783, and died in Washington Co unty about 1830, at the ripe age of one hundred and four, although blind for some years. He was a patriot and a strong advocate for the independence of the colonies.

Costin, according to Coventry Parish Records [Pocomoke City, Somerset Co., Md.], b. Dec. 17, 1738. Went to Kent Co., Delaware, 1761 at about same time as his father. [Deed from John Price and wife to Costin Beauchamp of Somerset Co., Md. to land in Murderkill Hundred, Kent Co., De l., Nov. 13, 1761.] In 1783 Costin and Charity his wife deed to Joshua Beauchamp, Kent Co., Del.; Woodford Co., Ky., July 1791 [Kk. Records in Nelson and Washington Co, Ky. Lived after death of his son Newell, who mentions his father in his will of 1825. There are numerous transactions in Delaware between him and his relatives.

Costin bought 666 2/3 acres in Shelby Co., Kentucky in 1815. He is said to have died at Raywick, now Marion Co, Ky, at a great age reputedly 107. The author, Stith Thompson stated he talked to an old man in 1901 [his great uncle Henry McClaskey] who remembered riding behind him on a horse. He seems to have left no will and no tombstone is known.

Nancy Graham, daughter of Ensign Christopher Graham (February 7, 1750) and Isabella Mitchell married twice. Her first marriage in 1808 was to Costin or Costen Beauchamp. He was the son of Joshua Beauchamp (who died in Missouri in 1826). (https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/243640750/costin_b_beauchamp)

Joshua Beachamp was the son of the older Costin Beauchamp. Obviously, the younger man was named for his grandfather as typically occurred then by their traditional naming patterns.

Nancy's husband Costin Beauchamp died when he was 29-30 years of age (about 1820) and left Nancy Graham-Beauchamp a widow with four young children. He has a findagrave.com site. She married next (about 1820) to Benjamin Duncan who was much older than her. Four years after they married, her second husband Benjamin Duncan died in Davies County, KY leaving several children as heirs from his first marriage and Nancy with an unborn child (a daughter who was born in November 1824.) Duncan made a note in his will that "Nancy's family will soon increase." She was given an equal share of his inheritance for the unborn child.

Joshus Beauchamp, son of the older Costen, and father of the younger Costen, had left Nelson County, KY for St. Charles County, MO. His 1826 will addendum names his four grandchildren, born to Nancy, living in Davies County. It is interesting. Daniel Boone had moved to St. Charles County in 1799. History states he was followed by about 300 Kentucky families. Inclusive in this move was at least three or four Graham families from Lincoln County, Kentucky. Other families moving to MO were the Sublette's (Phillip Sublette was a son-n-law Colonel William Whitley of Lincoln County) and the Carson family (Kit's parents) also moved there.
