The son of the late Newton Duggan and Laura Eileen Ford Fiveash, he was born in Turner Co., and was a member of the Ashburn First Baptist Church. In addition to having served two terms as sheriff, he was a farmer and livestock businessman. He was a board member of The Ashburn Housing Authority. A stranger to no one, he enjoyed fox hunting and NASCAR. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen Almand Fiveash.
Survivors include his children, Laura Elizabeth Fiveash, Valdosta, GA; Newton (Irene) Fiveash, Wesley H. (Angela) Fiveash and Russell Lee Fiveash all of Ashburn, GA; Six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a sister, Betty F. Harris, Atlanta, GA.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from seven until nine at Perry Funeral Chapel.
