LYONS - Herman D. Elliott, 73, died Feb. 8, 1984, at Lyons District Hospital, after a long illness. Born Aug. 20, 1910, at Drexel, Mo., he married Clara Mabry. She died in 1972. He was a retired insurance salesman and a former Rice County under-sheriff and had been a longtime Lyons resident.
He was a member of American Legion, Order of the Eastern Star and Masonic Lodge, all of Lyons, Isis Shrine Temple, Salina, Disabled American Veterans and was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors: daughter, Virginia Bonds, Erie, Pa.; brother, Ross, Fresno, Calif.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sillin Funeral Home, Lyons; the Rev. Raymond Massey. Burial at Lyons Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
