Jared Michael Reid, 20, of Ontario, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, April 3, 2012 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Jared was born October 5, 1991 in Morrow County, Ohio, the son of Marla Fuller Tanner and the late Steven Reid.

He attended Lexington, Ontario, and Mansfield City Schools and graduated in June of 2010. Following graduation, Jared worked at McDonald's and then at Texas Roadhouse, where he recently received a promotion. He was a dedicated employee who took pride in his work.

As a youth, he participated in Scouts and in youth activities at Faith Baptist Church. During his teen years, Jared started playing the guitar and worked for his grandma to purchase his first one. Primarily self-taught, he purchased several guitars and played in a youth band at Berean Baptist Church. Later he formed his own band, Validay Parking, with the dreams of playing professionally one day. His brothers claimed that he was addicted to his guitars and would become quite cranky if he happened to miss a day of practice.

Known as a handsome and friendly young man, Jared had a warm smile for everyone he met. He enjoyed hanging out with his longtime friends, Spencer Perry, Tyler Metz, and Thomas Wilson, with some of their antics causing a considerable amount of distress for their parents.

Along with his mother, Jared is survived by two brothers, Justin Reid of Crestline and Jacob Reid of Mansfield; his paternal grandparents, Richard and Barb Reid of Madison; maternal grandparents, Dorothy Fuller of Butler and Rollo Fuller of Tennessee; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Jared was preceded in death by his father, Steven Reid.

In spite of his shortened life, Jared left a lasting impression on his family, friends, and co-workers. His family would like to thank each one who has shared in his life and invite you to attend the celebration of his life.

Calling hours will be from 12 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Faith Baptist Church, 3216 Park Avenue West, Ontario. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Dave Davenport of Faith Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be at a later date.

In lieu of cut flowers, the family would appreciate outdoor plants to use for a garden in memory of Jared.
