Wife of William Dean Byrum

LAYTON - Our beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother, Carolee Ann Byrum, 65, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2002, surrounded by her loving family. Carolee was a loving wife and mother who adored her grandsons.

She was born March 27, 1936, in Elsie, MI, the daughter of Paul Lewis and Genevieve Blunt. She attended school in Elsie, MI, and Layton, UT, at St. Mary"s of Wasatch Catholic School. She married William Dean Byrum on April 22, 1955 in Long Beach, Mississippi. They raised their family in Tyler, Texas, and Elsie, Michigan before settling in Layton, Utah, in Feb. 1976.

She worked at Boise Cascade in North Salt Lake for 12 years before her retirement. Carolee was quick-witted and spoke her mind, but was loving and very compassionate and giving to family and friends. Carolee was a member of the Layton 36th Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Carolee was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Genevieve Blunt and a son, Arthur Byrum.

Carolee is survived by her husband of Layton, two sons and two daughters; Chris (Geraldine) Byrum, Elmer (Mary) Byrum, LaDena Warren, and Gaylene (Blake) Johnson of Layton, Utah. Also surviving her are 14 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and three sisters, Paula (Carl) Williams of Layton, Sabra (Brian) Baxter of Seattle, WA, and Debra (Lloyd) Peska of Seattle, WA, and many nieces and nephews. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary in Layton, 250 N. Fairfield Rd. Friends may call Monday, March 25, 2002 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the mortuary.

Interment will be in the Kaysville City Cemetery.
